Who will win the EnduroGP title in 2021? That’s the question everyone wants answering as the 2021 Borilli FIM EnduroGP World Championship gets underway this weekend in Portugal.
The series returns to Marco de Canaveses, the very place that saw the 2020 season draw to a thrilling conclusion. Steve Holcombe edged out Beta teammate Bradley Freeman on the day to secure the 2020 title. Both won their respective E3 and E2 titles as well so will be on the hunt for more glory this year.
2021 also marks the return of Josep Garcia to the series full time. The Spaniard has spent the last three years racing mostly hard enduro and believes the skills gained will help him improve his overall speed in traditional enduro.
There will be a ton of riders battling for wins and podiums with the likes of; Wil Ruprecht, Andrea Verona, Alex Salvini, Hamish Macdonald and the McCanney brothers to name a few.
A couple of new names on the entry list are Samuele Bernadini and Clement Desalle, both transferring from the MXGP series to try their hand at EnduroGP. Desalle is one of the most successful motocross riders in recent history, securing 81 podiums and 23 GP wins across a career that spanned 14 years.
The depth of rider is unbelievable in all of the classes and we can expect to see some classic action throughout the year.
Action begins this Friday afternoon, June 18 with the traditional Super Test in the city centre.
